Every pet has a story. A moment when everything changes. A person who becomes “their person.” In that single connection, two worlds shift.

A pet discovers safety, belonging, and hope. A human discovers purpose, compassion, and unconditional love.

Because of You is a special two-part storytelling fundraiser created to celebrate the stories of your pets while raising critical funds for Rescued, an organization dedicated to helping pets receive the veterinary care they need to heal and thrive.

YOUR PET'S POINT OF VIEW

During your portrait session at the studio, we explore your pet's journey from their point of view. Through a guided interview, we will ask questions as if your pet is speaking.

They will share the story of how love was found, the trust that was built and the life that was changed the day you met.

The portraits and stories will be shared on our blog, celebrating each pet's unique story.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR SESSION

When you arrive at the studio, you can expect a calm, welcoming environment designed with your pet’s comfort in mind.

Your session will include:

A brief consultation before your session to learn about your dog’s personality and story.
A guided portrait session using two thoughtfully chosen backdrops and a variety of props.
Gentle direction and patience to help your pet feel at ease.
A relaxed interview focused on your journey together.
Time for breaks, cuddles, and encouragement.
A private viewing and ordering experience featuring a curated gallery that tells your pet's story. Lisa will walk you through the collection and assist you in selecting artwork you will cherish for years to come.

AN OWNER'S POINT OF VIEW

To complement the dog’s point of view, the Because of You project also includes a community book club at The Atlas Collective-Brews and Books on April 16th, 2026 centered around This Dog Changed My Life by Elias Weiss Friedman.

While the portrait sessions highlight the dog’s voice, the book club focuses on the human perspective—how dogs shape our routines, our priorities, our healing, and our hearts.

Registration for the book club at The Atlas Collective - Brews and Books will open in March. We will announce when registration is open.

The book club fee is "pay what you can", and the proceeds will be donated to Rescued. Contact the bookstore to order your copy.
