Whether you are at the studio or on location, the approach I take as I work with you and your pet is always the same: patient, thoughtful, and tailored to your pet’s comfort level and personality.

Before your session 

Before your session, you’ll receive a short questionnaire. This helps me learn about your pet. This information ensures I’m ready to make your pet feel comfortable from the moment you arrive.

Arrival 

Once at the studio or location, your pet is given time to explore and sniff around. I don’t approach your pet. Instead, I let them come to me when they’re ready. Sometimes they may not approach me and that is okay. 

I’ll offer a treat from a respectful distance. Your pet might not take it right away; but he or she will  know it’s there waiting if they change their mind. I always have a variety of dog treats, chicken and cheese available. If your pet prefers something else, please bring it along or indicate the treat in the questionnaire and I will make sure I have it at your session.  

Before I begin photographing your pet, we’ll take a few moments to test the lighting and see how your pet responds. I also run a quick practice session to find out what grabs his or her attention. This might be a toy, a treat, or even you.

Your Session 

Throughout the session, I’ll guide you on how to interact with your pet so we can work as a team. Movement is welcome and encouraged. This helps keep the session fun and natural. Your pet is never scolded or forced to pose. Staying calm and positive goes a long way in helping your pet settle in and shine in front of the camera.

Every session is built on trust, patience, and a deep respect for animals. Whether your pet is shy, silly, or full of zoomies, I’ll meet them where they are with kindness, creativity, and genuine care.
