Every paw print tells a story

The toy room was quiet, the bears sat still, the nutcrackers stood tall. Shiny ribbons and bows lay spread on the floor. There was a yummy smell that I hoped were treats. 

The fire popped and crackled, filling the room with a cozy warmth. The perfect soundtrack for my adventure. 

That’s when I decided it was time for my nightly walk through the toy room. After all, someone has to guard the bears, nutcrackers, sled and drum.  

As I wandered making sure everything was in its place,  I spotted something new. A roll of shiny red paper waiting on the floor. I gave it a paw tap, then a nudge, and soon it was unrolling across the room like magic.

Before I knew it, I was helping and wrapping up a gift (and maybe myself) with ribbons and paper everywhere.

Wrapping presents was hard work! My tummy gave a rumble as I noticed something delicious. A plate of treats that I am sure were left out for me.

My adventure, wrapping and treats made me drowsy so I found my favorite bear to snuggle with. As I drifted to sleep, I realized something, these moments don’t last forever.

The twinkle of the lights, the shine of the ribbon, the smell of the treats, and my joy in every wag and smile. That’s why my human takes pictures.
