Capturing my Cattitude

I do what I want to do

Let me begin by saying this: I do not do things I don’t want to do.

So when my person placed me into the box in which I cannot escape, I resisted.

I had my doubts.

Strong doubts.

Loud, opinionated doubts.

My person tried to calm and reassure me; but she kept talking about cat photography.

My arrival that was not at the vet.

I wasn't going anywhere until I was ready.

We were not at the vet; but I wasn't quite sure about this new place so I stayed in my box. One must assess the situation.

New smells, new lighting, unfamiliar territory required careful consideration.

No one rushed me, and the space remained calm and quiet,

Eventually, curiosity won, as it always does, and I slowly moved.

There was a lady talking about fine art pet photography. I had no idea what that was; but I was ready to explore.

Treats and More

I noticed the treats.

Not just any treats. The good ones. The kind that suggest respect. I accepted them, of course.

There was no pressure, no chaos, no expectation that I would perform like some sort of dog (no offense to dogs).

I explored.  I observed from a distance. I allowed the lady with a weird contraption to earn my trust.

Then came the toys.

There were feathers and little balls to chase. Not only was I given treats; but I got to play!

Over time, I settled in.

I learned that this was something called a studio cat photography session and that Miss Lisa was holding a camera. My person never left the room (a good thing).

A flick of the tail here, a perfectly timed glance there. A moment of playful energy followed by a return to composed elegance. Miss Lisa seemed to understand that capturing me required patience, not persistence.

Why I will visit Miss Lisa again

First, she understood me.

I am a cat. I am not predictable.  I was not there for her convenience. She gets that. Miss Lisa allowed time for acclimation, for curiosity, for trust to build naturally.

Second, she is patient.

My session was not rushed.  It unfolded at my pace.

Whether it took 10 minutes or longer, she waits for the moments that feel just right; because those are the moments worth capturing.

Third, she spoke my language.

She knew how to engage with me. A subtle movement and quiet encouragement. A well-timed treat reward. It was all very professional.

Finally, she created something lasting for my person.

These photos represent my personality, my dignity, my cute little quirks, and the presence in my person's life.

In conclusion, I went in skeptical and left impressed.

If you wish to properly document the magnificence of your own feline companion, you should contact Miss Lisa.

 Love,

Your very important cat
