YOUR FIRST ASSIGNMENT
This weekend, find your Legacy Journal.

It can be a beautiful journal, a notebook, or even a simple spiral notebook. It can be plain. You can add stickers or artwork. Whatever you want to make it yours.

This is where you'll collect the stories, memories, photographs, funny quirks, favorite moments, and little details that make your pet who they are.

August 3rd, 2026: The Look That Says Everything

Reflection

Our pets communicate without words. Sometimes all it takes is one look, a soft gaze, an excited sparkle, or sleepy eyes after a long day to remind us how deeply they trust us. These expressions are often the moments we remember long after the years have passed.

Challenge

Spend five uninterrupted minutes simply watching your pet today. No phone. No television. Just observe their expressions and the little things they do when they think no one is watching.

Journal Prompt

What expression does your pet make that instantly melts your heart? Describe it in as much detail as you can.

Preserve Tip

Take one close-up portrait of your pet's face today. Focus on the eyes. Don't worry about perfection—the emotion is what matters.

Reflection

Every pet has sounds that become part of our daily lives. The happy bark when you come home, the gentle purr on your lap, the jingling tags racing down the hallway, the slurping of water make these ordinary sounds become some of our most treasured memories.

Challenge

Pause today and simply listen to your pet for a few minutes. Notice the sounds that make your house feel like home.

If you could preserve one sound your pet makes forever, what would it be? Why is it so meaningful?

Preserve Tip

Record a short video or audio clip of your pet today. One day, hearing those familiar sounds again will be priceless.

August 17th, 2026: Tiny Details, Big Memories

Reflection

We often photograph our pets as a whole but overlook the tiny details that make them uniquely yours. Think about the freckles on a nose, graying whiskers, oversized paws, or curled tail. 

Challenge

Photograph three small details that represent your pet's personality.

What physical feature makes your pet instantly recognizable to you?

Preserve Tip

Create a folder on your phone called "Legacy Project" and begin saving your favorite everyday images in one place.

Post your favorite close-up detail and tell us why it's special.

During your Legacy Session, request 9 Perfect Moments. As I work with you and your pet, I will make sure to capture all of the tiny details that you love about your pet and present it to you in a 9 image collage. 

August 31st, 2026: Everyday Rituals

Reflection

Legacy isn't built on extraordinary moments alone. It's found in the routines we repeat every day.

The morning stretches, waiting by the door, evening walks, bedtime cuddles, or greeting you when you arrive home.

Challenge

Photograph or sketch one daily routine you never want to forget

Describe one ordinary moment with your pet that has become part of your daily life. Why does it matter?

Preserve Tip

Take a photo of your pet in their favorite place instead of asking them to pose.

September 14, 2026: A Love Story

Reflection

Every relationship has a beginning. Whether your pet found you unexpectedly or you searched for them for months, the day your lives came together became the first page of your story.

Challenge

Find the very first photo you have of your pet and compare it with a photo you take today.

How did your pet come into your life? What do you remember most about that first day?

Preserve Tip

Place your first photo and your newest photo together in an album or frame. Watching that journey unfold tells a beautiful story.

Share Prompt

Share your pet's "then and now" photos and tell us how they've changed—and how they've changed you.
