What is The Legacy Project?

The Legacy Project is a movement created by Francescon Portraiture to help pet families be more intentional about preserving the memories and stories they share with their pets.

Through simple challenges and prompts, you'll be encouraged to Cherish, Preserve, and Celebrate your pet and the life you share together.

Is The Legacy Project free?

Yes! The Legacy Project is completely free. There is no membership fee, subscription, or purchase required to participate.

Do I have to complete every challenge?

No. The challenges are invitations, not assignments. Participate in the ones that speak to you and skip anything that doesn't fit your life right now.

Is there a deadline for completing a challenge?

No. There is no time limit.

A challenge may be shared one week; but you can complete it whenever you're ready. A day, a week, or even months later. Your memories don't follow a schedule, and The Legacy Project doesn't either.

Do I need a special journal?

Not at all. A notebook, journal, or digital document will work perfectly. If you'd like, choose a journal that can become a special place to record your pet's memories, stories, photographs, and favorite moments.

What are the challenges about?

Challenges may encourage you to reflect on your relationship with your pet, notice their unique personality and habits, write down a memory, take a photograph, or celebrate something that makes them special.

The goal isn't to create more work. It's to notice the meaningful moments that are already happening.

Do I need a professional camera?

No. Your phone is enough.

The most meaningful photograph isn't always the most technically perfect one. Sometimes an ordinary photograph becomes priceless because it captures a moment, expression, habit, or season of your pet's life.

Is The Legacy Project only for senior pets?

Absolutely not. Your pet's legacy is being created right now.

Whether you have a new puppy or kitten, a beloved adult companion, or a senior pet who has been with you for many years, every stage of their life is worth remembering.

How does professional pet photography fit into The Legacy Project?

Photography is one of the ways we preserve our pets' stories. A professional portrait can capture not only what your pet looks like, but their personality, connection, and the relationship you share.

Legacy Sessions at Francescon Portraiture are one way to celebrate that story, but you do not need to book a session to participate in The Legacy Project.
